Super Bowl 50 pitted the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. Both teams’ quarterbacks were 1st overall picks in their draft class. Cam Newton, the 1st overall pick in the 2011 draft and the 2015 seasons MVP, and Peyton Manning, the 5 time MVP and 1st overall pick of 1998 draft. For Cam, this was his first Super bowl. For Peyton, this was his 4th Super bowl appearance and he was looking for his 2nd ring.
The game started with the Broncos driving down the field and scoring a field goal. With both offenses struggling in the beginning of the game, the first touchdown came from the Broncos defense by causing Cam to fumble and returning it for a touchdown. The Panthers soon rebounded by going for a solid TD drive with Jonathan Stewart going in for a 1 yard TD run. After that both offenses stalled with only the Broncos scoring 3 points and ending the half with a halftime score of 13-7.
In the beginning of the second half both offenses were still being dominated and not allowed to move the ball. Late into the 4th quarter both offenses only scored 3 points for themselfs to improve the score to 16-10. Then the game was sealed with a sack by the Broncos forcing Cam to fumble for the second time and committing his 3rd turnover of the game. The Broncos defense was all over Cam by racking up 7 sacks and holding the explosive Panthers offense to 10 points. The Broncos scored quick with a CJ Anderson TD run and sealed the game with a 24-10 lead. The game ended with a Broncos win and Super Bowl Championship and sending Peyton Manning off with a second Super Bowl ring. The Super Bowl MVP was given to Von Miller for getting 2.5 sacks and forcing 2 fumbles.
