Cheerleaders Finish 4th in NYS

Hang on for a minute...we're trying to find some more stories you might like.

The weekend of February 18, our Varsity Cheer team competed in Sectionals at White Plains High School. Our team went up against two other squads: Mahopac and Carmel. Overall, our team won in the Large School Large Team division. In addition, two of the team’s most skilled cheerleaders, Olivia Senatore and Julia Sidoti, tried out to be recognized as All League or All Section cheerleaders.  Both of the girls were recognized as All League. Since our team beat Mahopac and Carmel, they advanced to States which was held in Syracuse on March 4, 2017. In Syracuse, the girls competed against the section title winning team from each section for their first performance, and came in 3rd place. From there, they advanced to Finals. After suffering complications of two injuries after their first performance, the Varsity cheerleaders pulled themselves together and filled in spots for the two injured cheerleaders. Through all of the problems the team has faced this year, they managed to become 4th in New York State. Sadly,  we will be losing 11 seniors this year; they will be missed and their additions to North Rockland’s cheer legacy will not be forgotten. The team’s season is officially over and will start again in August 2017.
