Cheerleaders Preparing for First Competition

North Rockland High School’s Varsity Cheer is at it again! This Competition Season is expected to be nothing less than amazing, with a trip in store for NCA Nationals in Dallas, Texas! These first few months have been spent in preparation for competitions. The first fall competition is expected to be on October 28, 2017 at Walter Panas High School. Also, on November 4th is the “Fall Conference” which is an equivalent of Fall Sectionals for cheer. Some of the competitions are a bit of a drive, but don’t miss out on our annual NRHS competition: the Rockfest Competition, which is scheduled for January 6, 2018. Next, is NCA Nationals which is on January 26-29 and is held in Dallas, Texas. Winter sectionals are expected to be on February 24th at Pace University. NRVC is going back to Syracuse again! The last competition is States, which is March 4, 2018.

The Varsity team’s Coach, Tanya Kelsh, shared her ambitions for the team this year. “Last year was a rough year, and we lost a lot of seniors. Our team is young this year, and I’m really looking forward to watching them grow and become a family. Of course, we’re all excited for the competitions too, and we’re hoping to win NCA Nationals in Dallas.”

Updates will be available after each competition on our online newspaper. Don’t forget to support! Go Raiders!!
